Truffle Salsa with Mushrooms, Porcini and Summer Truffle 180 g
Made in Italy · Fast delivery in Romania and the EU · Secure payment
A salsa that tastes of an autumn wood: savoury mushrooms, a hint of the sea and the earthy note of summer truffle.
What it is: a rustic, finely chunky sauce of button mushrooms, summer truffle (Tuber aestivum Vitt., 10%) and porcini, rounded off with extra virgin olive oil, black olives, capers and anchovies. The anchovies add depth, so the salsa is not vegetarian.
Origin: Made by a family producer in Spello, Umbria, in the style of the classic salsa tartufata found in Umbrian kitchens.
- Aroma: mushroom, woodland, gentle spice
- Taste: umami, hearty, lightly salty
- Texture: finely chunky, spreadable
At a glance: net weight 180 g · summer truffle (Tuber aestivum Vitt.) 10% · contains anchovies · keeps 15 days in the fridge once opened, covered with olive oil · made in Spello, Umbria.
One jar turns a plain bowl of pasta into a meal with character in a few minutes.
How to use
Use cold straight from the jar or briefly warmed. For pasta allow 1–2 heaped tablespoons per serving and toss it through with a splash of cooking water at the end – do not boil it.
- Tagliatelle or strangozzi with a knob of butter
- Warm crostini as an aperitivo
- Grilled beef fillet or veal escalope
Wine suggestion: a Sagrantino di Montefalco or a Rosso di Montalcino.
